Casilda series

santacasilda

This work by Francisco de Zurbarán is entitled Santa Casilda (another, more wellknown but less stringent version by the same painter also exists). In 1988, I saw the original painting exhibited at the Grand Palais in Paris. It didn´t leave me, so I had to work it through by repeated copying. I spent a good deal of the 1990’s doing that. She may not be finished with me yet.
