Connecting art and sustainability, the Green Lab project aimed to enhance awareness towards process and materials in artmaking; to broaden the artist’s means of expression; and to encourage further experimenting among artists, art teachers and students. Carried out together with artist Ulrika Jansson at Art Lab Gnesta in 2012-2013, Green Lab engaged a number of professionals to collect and develop existing knowledge. Our work resulted in articles, interviews, case studies and recipes, assembled into a compendium printed by risograph; a corresponding web guide for environmentally resilient painting and sculpture; and a seminar in collaboration with the Culture Administration of the City of Stockholm, at Liljevalchs public art gallery.
